Monte Alto Forest Reserve
This forest reserve on approximately 400 hectors was born to protect
the river basing of the Nosara River which gives water to the people
of Hojancha and 6 other towns. Monte Alto has 21 species of mammals,
14 reptiles, 131 birds, 171 trees, and 65 different orchids. There
are 4 trails that which you can take to observe the tropical humid
forest and on one trail which takes four hours you get a panoramic
view on the Nicoya peninsula and also of the Samara coast. |
