Caverns of Barra Honda

More than 60 millions of years ago, Cocos and Caribe geological events formed what we now know as Central America.

The bottom of the sea was risen and Guanacaste came up, and its caverns; the biggest ones in Costa Rica, Barra Honda National Park.

Stalactites, and Estalagmitas will welcome you to a experience like no other, with thousands of bats and beautiful patterns of rocks created by mother nature. Just after 5 minutes wlaking we get to the only authorized cavern for exploring by tourists, this one is 60 mts. deep and in its Velvet Room you can dicover what millions of years can tell you about the story of the earth.
